Yellow announces that its lighting portfolio will comply with the new eu eco-design and energy labelling regulation, which will affect all lighting products in member states from September 2021. The new regulations represent a big shift in the lighting industry.

The new eco-design legislation brings together three current eu lighting regulations. It introduced stricter energy efficiency requirements. Together with the new energy labeling regulations, this means that the energy labels for all lights will be reclassified as a-g. This will make it easier and more transparent for consumers to buy the products of their choice. Circular economy requirements, such as replaceable light sources and product internal controls, are also included to make them easier to use. Energy-efficient lighting has made a significant contribution to the global goal of doubling annual growth in energy efficiency to 3 per cent a year, which will help limit global warming.
