Resonant waveguide gratings are composed of a layer of waveguide film and the gratings on it. We analyzed the raster response using the Fourier modal method (FMM or RCWA) in VirtualLab Fusion. In the following example, the parameter coupling feature is used to define the parameters under study in a relative way. In addition, the resonant mode inside the grating structure is also calculated to study the working principle of the device.
In VirtualLab Fusion we apply the Fourier modal method (FMM) to rigorously analyze resonant waveguide gratings.
The parameter coupling feature of VirtualLab Fusion can be used to define the coupling of different parameters in any optical setting, which helps to create complex functional relationships between these parameters.
