Scientists at the Technion University in Israel have for the first time directly observed a dynamic optical branching flow with a microscope or even a naked eye in a soap bubble membrane, and have recorded a beautiful image of the ramification flow with the aid of a camera. The study was published Thursday in the journal Nature, and the image was used on the cover.
When the light wave propagates to meet the non-uniform medium, part of the light will deviate from the original propagation direction and scatter in a way that depends on the nature of the medium. Optical bifurcation phenomenon is an unusual form of light scattering.
