About LED lighting. 

First of all though,a word on LED lighting, LEDs -or light emitting diodes-are a device whose main component is a semiconductor material or diodes. When an electrical cureent is applied to the semiconductor material, electrons are knocked losose from the surface of the diode, in the process emitting packets of energy knownas photons - which appear to us as visible light. All light , in fact, is simply electromagnetic energy spanning a certain range of wavelengths-different wavelengths of energy, Hence why LEDs are available in so many colors and color combinations-different semiconductor materials emit different levels of energy.
