Lamps using light sources that are not exempted from the retinal blue light hazard assessment in safety standards shall be assessed in accordance with IEC/TR 62778, Applications of IEC 62471 for The Assessment of Blue Light Hazards in Light Sources and Lamps.
LED light sources with blue light hazard category greater than RG2 should not be used. There are more onerous management requirements for this type of light source.
Requirements for the use of light fixtures assessed as HAVING RG0 unrestricted or RG1 unrestricted levels in accordance with IEC/TR 62778, or having been used as fully assembled for use assessed as RG0 unrestricted or RG1 unrestricted levels, without the use of retinal blue light hazards under the same conditions

For lamps with threshold luminescence Ethr assessed in accordance with IEC/TR 62778, the following requirements should be used:
- Fixed lamps
Additional evaluations are to be made according to IEC/TR 62778. If greater than RG1, find a distance Xm to reach the Ethr.
