Information

In modern optical systems, gratings can be found in a variety of applications such as wavelength separation, photoconductive coupling, and phase and/or polarization regulation. Therefore, the modeling and design of raster has attracted more and more attention. VirtualLab Fusion and its built-in strict Fourier modal Method (FMM) give it a very human user interface.
In our second "Best News" newsletter, we focus on tilting the gratings.

Different shapes of the tilted gratings, with different inclination angles, filling factors and modulation depths, were selected from the literature, and the diffraction efficiency was calculated using the Fourier mode method (FMM).

You can easily configure a coated tilted grating in VirtualLab Fusion. This use case illustrates the options available for customizing the tilt gratings.
